Fire breaks out at Capital`s Geneva Camp

A fire that broke out at Bihari Camp in Jahuri Mahalla on Babar Road in the Capital's Mohammadpur area has been brought under control.

The fire broke out at 4:15 pm on Tuesday. Upon receiving the news of the fire, 10 units of the fire service sent to the spot and doused the blaze.

Director (Operations and Maintenance) of the Fire Service Lieutenant Colonel Zillur Rahman confirmed the matter to Daily Bangladesh.

He said three units of the fire service went to the spot at 4.15 pm after being informed. Later 7 more units joined them. However, 3 units brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire could not be known. No casualties have been reported so far.

Earlier, a fire broke out in a seven-storey slum in Mohakhali on Monday night which burnt down about 60-70 houses.
