DHAKA: 7,855 people were killed and 13,330 others sustained injures in some 5,516 road accidents across the country in the year of 2019.

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity revealed a report titled “Annual Road Accident Report” on a annual road accidents.

The platform revealed the statistics at a press conference at the auditorium of the Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in the city's Segunbagicha on Saturday (January 11).

According to the report, 469 people were killed and 706 others received injuries in 482 railway accidents in the same year.  However, 219 persons were killed, 282 were injured and 375 other remained missing in 203 riverway accidents in the same period.

So in total, some 8,543 people were killed and14, 318 others injured in 6,201 road, rail and river transport accidents in last 12 months.
